Ansonia Music Students Perform Under REBL's Instruction

In October 2021, the Ansonia High School (Ansonia, Connecticut) music department brought REBL in to teach percussion for their upcoming holiday concert. He worked alongside the Director of Bands, Maria Tangredi, to prepare for the December event.

Many of REBL’s students, from Freshmen to Seniors, didn’t have a lot of musical training – and many couldn’t read music.

REBL explains, “It’s appropriate that I took this job during the last two months of my music studies at the University of New Haven. I was referred to the position by the UNH Marching Band Director, who observed my ability to lead and teach during my years in the University’s Marching Band.”

Music and teaching have intersected countless times during REBL’s musical studies. He was often sought after by his classmates in High School when it came to learning new music and he subsequently served as a Section Leader for the UNH drumline, where he gladly helped instruct bandmates on and off hours.

The Ansonia percussion students quickly took to REBL’s teaching style. After preparing an arrangement of Carol of the Bells, the students received a standing ovation for their December 15 performance.
